There were unforgettable days of «Soviet times», when foreign hits, overcoming difficult Soviet barriers, were passed «hand in hand» or «by word of mouth», ...were translated into native language and, of course, were sung by the hairy youth to the quitar in all the yards and during all the outings, near the fireplaces and under the stars…The same happened to the American band «Eagles» – the song «California». Oleg Skrypka said, that the first time he heared this song oversung was in hostel №5 of Kyiv Politechnic Institute, it was perfomed by his groupmade Rudyo Sashko. Oleg was good at memorizing the first couplet, refrain and the manner of performing the song. And only recently the leader of VV added one more couplet and the refrain, arranged it and recorded the composition as relict anamnesis of eighties.
